Turning Faith into PowerS. Richard NelsonJesus says in Matthew 17:19-20, "For verily I say unto you, If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye shall say unto this mountain, Remove hence to yonder place, and it shall remove; and nothing shall be impossible unto you." As believing Christians there is substantial power available to us. It is the power of faith. Through the bounteous mercy and love of Jesus Christ we receive his grace - a divine means of strength. The power available to us through Jesus Christ is very real.

Book One"Faith is the prevailing principle of power. In fact, without faith there is no power!" |
The purpose for our earthly existence is to give us experience. Sometimes that experience is pleasant and joyful. Other times it is disheartening and unsatisfying. But in every situation, at every age, and whatever our experience, we have the promise of Jesus Christ, "I am with you always, even unto the end of the world." (Matthew 28:20.) We need not face each day, each trial, and each opportunity alone.
Higher power is accessible to each of us every day and every hour. It is the same power by which God created the worlds. It is the power of faith. Faith is a principle of action and of power, and by it the faithful Christian can influence any number of circumstances when the occasion warrants. |
"We are not alone on this earth, and the purpose God has for us is not to fail but to succeed and ultimately to return to God." |
Gaining Power through PrayerS. Richard NelsonEvery faithful Christian should be intimately acquainted with the remarkable power of prayer. Sincere prayer is a fountain of divine power flowing into our lives. Through prayer we gain clear and precise direction. Through prayer we access the strength of character to perform God's will – to do what is right. Prayer is the process we use to place ourselves in contact with God.

Book Two"Prayer is not demanding from God whatever we want. |
The Added Power of ObedienceS. Richard NelsonOne of the most pronounced sources of spiritual power is obedience to the laws of God. Many are more than willing to die for their beliefs than to faithfully live them. The most effective way to introduce others to the word of God is not to die for it, but simply to obey it.
When God sends us a miracle, it is because we obeyed a commandment that justified a miracle. Any desire we hope to achieve or accomplish that is exceptional, substantial, or advantageous will be realized through obedience to God’s law. |
Book Three"Any desire we hope to achieve or accomplish that is exceptional, substantial, or advantageous will be realized through obedience to God’s law." |
The Healing Power of ForgivenessS. Richard NelsonRepentance and forgiveness are the essence of the gospel of Jesus Christ. They are principles that offer hope, expectation and encouragement to every believer. Faith in Jesus Christ teaches us that it is worth everything to continually cleanse and purify our lives through repentance. It is because of our faith in Him that we have the power to receive His forgiveness. The great blessing and miracle is that you and I have the very same power given to us.
